Hide meaning on all sentences from adyble 25.01.2012 (20:36)

Hi is there a setling to hide meaning on all sentences ? It's ok the main one but when going into the detail, I'm having to cover up the screen with a piece of paper to try and work out or remember the meaning without seeing the answer right under it. Otherwise, really helpful. Thanks Andy

Je n'ai pas de from rysiek_n 12.05.2011 (17:58)

Je n'ai pas de ... is, of course, normal but, looking at one of today's sentences, I would have said: Je n'ai pas le temps de vous aider rather than Je n'ai pas de temps pour vous aider.

Automated Looping from JosefGinsberg 15.09.2011 (23:51)

Are there any plans to automate the software so that correct answers are automatically recognized and looped in accordance with correct or incorrect answers? It would be nice not to have to closely scan each answer to make sure the spelling is correct, or to have to decide how to loop it. It sort of...

Upload word lists from JosefGinsberg 29.08.2011 (04:32)

Is there a way to upload word lists rather than having to enter them in individually? If not, will this feature be implemented in the foreseeable future? I have digital reams of French vocab to study for a French course. Putting them in one by one isn't very convenient.

The readers of the example sentences should go a little slower. Spoken French does not look much like the written French to the beginner.

Help with monter! from ninav 28.02.2011 (12:05)

Today's message "Il a monte les escaliers au courant" - he ran up the stairs, has confused me. I learned that monter is one of the verbs that takes etre as the auxilliary. If you use avoir it changes the meaning of the main verb, eg "il est monte les escaliers" = he went up the stairs, but "Il a mon...

How about recording the masculin words with a male voice and female voice for the feminine words. I understand le and la infront of the words is too difficult.

does anyone know, please? from AliceJane 23.03.2010 (20:37)

Hello - I posted a question. Perhaps it was thought to be rhetorical, but I'm not smart enough to ask rhetorical questions! We had a sentence of the day that talked about French gastronomy. In English, we talk about French cuisine. In France, do they use the word "cuisine" or "gastronomy"? Th...

March 17 - Sentence of the Day from AliceJane 17.03.2010 (15:26)

I'm wondering about our Sentence of the Day. In English, you never hear something like this: 'France is famous for its gastronomy.' Shouldn't it be 'cuisine,' which is spelled the same in English and French? We often talk about French cuisine. I'm not sure I've ever heard the word, 'gastronomy...

This is a great web site and almost perfect for my study. I'm much appreciated for the creation and I love it. But my only concern is, who is in charge of all of this page?
