The new class

Un professeur accueille sa nouvelle classe.

One day a teacher is greeting his new class.

Il se tient debout devant la classe et demande s'il y a des idiots. Si c'est le cas, ils doivent se lever.

He is standing up in front of the class and asks if anyone in the class is an idiot, and if they are, they should stand.

Après une minute, un jeune homme se lève.

After a minute a young man stands up.

Le professeur demande alors à l'enfant s'il pense vraiment être idiot.

The professor then asksthe kid if he actually thinks he is an idiot.

L'enfant répond : "Non, mais je ne voulais pas que vous soyiez le seul à vous lever."

The kid replies: "No, I just didn't want to see you standing there all by yourself"
